Kidney transplantation is regarded as optimal treatment for patients With ESRD who are found eligible for the procedure and following medical treatment. Even for older recipients it is shown that transplantation provides superior survival compared to continuing dialysis. But how does kidney transplantation affect quality of life in older recipients? Does it add life to years and not only years to life?
